Is brian done?

what happens with the beard.....

Just watching giants pregame while switching back and forth with the sharks game(GO SHARKS), and heard baggs talking about bweezy needing surgery for the second time. i have no idea what the f is going on, i thought he had an ankle problem. but they were saying he was prolly going to need tommy john, and that his career as a giant might be over. do you gusy think he is done? hes my favorite player and ill prolly go into a food coma for endless eating if he is. im praying for my beard bretheren!
I thought it was just maybe a season ending surgery and they were hopeful of his return. If it is career ending, that would be so sad. I read that they were going to get a second opinion.
Sadly I think this will be Wilson's exit from the Giants. It's too bad too, but you cannot have so many close games needing your Closer ~50 times in one season and then so many lackluster appearances at the Dish requiring your Closer to eke one out for how many games last season? It put him on the bench late in the season last year.

Hopefully I'm wrong and hopefully it's not as bad as it looks. But it would have been nice not to have to rely on your closer 3 times a week during the season. Don't forget the games where he only went out to warm up and wasn't used. We need the guy to be sure. Can't be having limp a limp noodle in your hands when you step into the Batter's Box. This team had that in spades last year.

I'm pretty sure Wilson's done.... I love the guy and look forward to close situations just to watch him "excitingly" shut the door, but I think the Giants need to think long term and get another closer in here... Who knows if he'll recover from Tommy John, and if he does how close to the same old Brian Wilson will he be... I feel like we've seen a similar situation in San Francisco like this before.... Does Rob Nenn ring a bell? I say cut ties and explore other options. I personally like Romo for the job. He's a better fundamental/skill pitcher than Wilson anyway. Hell, I say throw Belt out there for trade bait and see what they can come up with. It seems obvious to me that there not sold on his ability anyway.
Wilson will be back. Mid season next year. He will work hard to reclaim his spot. He is also enough of a team first guy that he would thrive in a specialist role if someone else hasn't made his mark as our closer.
