I wouldn't be surprised that he is done. Nor will I be surprised if he is in camp next Spring

I would not be surprised either if this is it for RJ. I guess its a good thing the Giants didnt trade Sanchez now. In fact, we need another starting pitcher!

This would be a great opportunity to call up that kid Scott Barnes, anyone heard of him that 6'-4" lefty we have down in SJ tearing it up. Oh that's right we just traded him, guess that's out the window. I heard we have some guy in double AA that's supposed to be pretty good and he is left handed too. Maybe we can call him up, naaah the front office is worried he might hurt himself in the bigs and not be able to put up such eye popping numbers in the minors anymore, wouldn't want that.

More class from the Unit. This is a great thing for our younger players to see.
I'm not happy he's hurt but the commitment he's making to the team shows leadership and follow through.
I also liked the fact that Lincecum's reaction to the trade rumors was to say "I like our team, I'm not sure we need to make moves" He may not be right, but confidence like that in your teammates when you are basically carrying them during your starts has to help the team.
Randy Johnson - S - San Francisco Giants Big M F (Reserve) Wednesday Jul. 29, 2009
Randy Johnson (torn rotator cuff) is hoping to return to the Giants in September, as a reliever if necessary.
The Big Unit was placed on the 60-day disabled list Tuesday. "I came here to win games," he said. "That’s my intention still. Hopefully I go out in some capacity and contribute, whether it’s starting or relieving... I’ve had a lot of surgeries and I’ve rehabbed a lot. I know what it’s about." Seriously? You want to bring up someone from single A straight to big leagues? That's ridiculous. Barnes was at least two years out. Also, I don't know if you saw but Bumgarner got rocked yesterday and tried to bean two hitters before getting thrown out of the game. His velocity was also down 4-5 mph last night, he's definitely not ready either. No one is worried about him hurting himself in the least. You don't rush a top five prospect when it isn't necessary. Kevin Pucetas or Joe Martinez will be next up in the rotation if Sadowski doesn't get his **** together, and quick.

I replied to such a post and have been wary since, as I believe these are tongue in cheek.
SDG wouldn't have called up Barnes but was pointing out the irony of trading when a need pops up like this.
Clearly no one wants Sadowski out there Friday night against the Phil's. I mean it could get so ugly so fast that he won't know what hit him. Miller may be warming up 6 batters in. I he weren't the long man we could stretch him out for the rotation but I think we need a stop gap.
Rodrigo Lopez has pitched well with the Phils and if they land Cliff Lee from the tribe today they may leave him behind here. I wouldn't mind it at all. If not maybe they would part with Pedro.
Could we add yet another CY?

Damn we really need Nate for this Philly series. There is no way we are going to beat them if we are hitting the way we are, unless our pitchers pull something out of their ass.
I trust Timmy, but Cain will not pitch against the Phillies...I do not trust anyone else

Guess you don't know what sarcasm is.......

didn't mean to get you all fired up....the front office babies our prospects, any other front office with our pitching depth in the minors has them up or has already traded them for a bat way before the deadline. Remember the movie Rounders and the line where "if you can't spot the sucker at the table in the first 5 minutes, then you are the sucker." That's Sabean and the rest of the front office in a Nutshell!
