Yes, the Giants won the World Series forcefully and easily, but baseball likely will punctuate their title with a period rather than an exclamation point. The matchup between San Francisco and the valiant but suddenly overmatched Texas Rangers was the lowest-rated World Series in history, and baseball executives likely will respond by ending the wild-card era that began in 1995 and reformatting the playoffs, most likely with the addition of another wild-card team. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/comme...e=MLBHeadlines

This has been coming for a while now. It is the only way to stretch the Playoffs and World Series into DECEMBER
