Some of MLB’s biggest names could help Tony Vitello’s transition to the big leagues as he enters his first season as Giants manager.Vitello, speaking to reporters Tuesday morning, spoke about how players such as two-time NL MVP Bryce Harper have shared some insightful advice with him as he approaches uncharted territory.“A lot of guys went out of their way, instead of it being like, wait a minute, you’re not invited to the club, you didn’t play or do anything like that,” Vitello explained. “It was almost like a sense of urgency, like, hey, when you get there, make sure you do this, this and this. One thing Bryce was adamant about was a way to handle players and talk to players. But also, to lean on players. “Because at this level, there’s guys that, you know, [Matt Chapman] knows third base better than I do, so it’s important for him to help the younger guys even more so than a coach, and lean on certain situations throughout the year in the clubhouse.
