SAN FRANCISCO — Tony Vitello is seemingly everywhere during pregame workouts, and he’s always on the top step of the dugout during games. Several times over the first week of the season, the Giants manager has looked like he might excitedly run out and grab one of his hitters’ equipment after he reaches first base. When Casey Schmitt made a leaping grab to end an inning Thursday, Vitello walked halfway to the infield grass before retreating.But when Blade Tidwell finished his first inning as a Giant, Vitello was nowhere to be found. Tidwell walked slowly back to the dugout and found a familiar face waiting for him, but it was Frank Anderson, Vitello’s longtime pitching coach and the man who helped turn Tidwell into a big league-caliber talent.
