SAN FRANCISCO – Like nearly every starting pitcher in Major League Baseball, Landen Roupp wasn’t about to start pointing fingers or calling people out after the Giants’ defense failed him during Monday’s 6-2 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks.If anything, the 27-year-old shouldered a good chunk of the blame himself and spoke about some of the challenges that were presented.Facing the Diamondbacks for the second time in a week, Roupp pitched well enough to win but took the L on the chin. That’s primarily due to San Francisco’s defense, which committed two errors that led to a pair of unearned runs in the fifth inning, leading to Roupp’s afternoon ending far earlier than expected.“Try to get the guys in the dugout as quickly as possible, regardless of what happens,” Roupp said when asked about his mindset following the two errors. “I feel like I made some good pitches in that inning.
