SAN FRANCISCO – Logan Webb didn’t let it come down to a manager’s decision this time. The Giants (29-43) ace made sure of that in the series finale against the Chicago Cubs (37-35) on Sunday.Webb was outstanding all afternoon at Oracle Park, throwing eight strong innings while allowing seven hits and one run. The right-hander did not walk anyone and matched his season-high of seven strikeouts to highlight San Francisco’s 5-1 win.Webb even convinced first-year manager Tony Vitello to let him finish the eighth inning, six days after Vitello pulled Webb from his start against the Washington Nationals. That decision caused a lot of debate among fans and media.It wasn’t an issue Sunday.In addition to Webb’s pitching, San Francisco had its offense on a roll for most of the afternoon at Oracle Park.
