The fallout from the Giants’ Pride Night took another turn Monday, after MLB commissioner Rob Manfred penned a letter explaining all sides of the issue.In a lengthy correspondence to Missouri Senator Josh Hawley, Manfred shared why MLB issued a warning to Giants pitchers who wrote Bible verses on their Pride hats during their June 12 game — a protest that has caused plenty of discourse, including a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into the league for said warning, which the department believes could be classified as discrimination.Manfred’s letter, which Hawley posted on X, comes after both Hawley and the DOJ sent separate letters to the commissioner over the issue. He explained that beginning in 2023, MLB stopped allowing teams to wear commemorative uniforms for their celebration days.
