SAN FRANCISCO — A year ago, Buster Posey intended to add at the trade deadline before a late-July skid made it an obvious sell situation. There will be no ambiguity this time, but Posey made it clear Tuesday that he only will go so far.During a session with reporters prior to Tuesday’s game, Posey said he will examine all options ahead of the Aug. 3 deadline, but gave a quick “no” when asked if he would entertain offers for ace Logan Webb. Trading Webb, the face of the franchise, would be the move that signals a full teardown, something this ownership group has never accepted. Webb has two years left on his contract after the 2026 season and is desperate to get back to the postseason, and the Giants would get a haul back given how well he has pitched since coming off the injured list. Robbie Ray and Luis Arráez are the players most likely to get dealt over the next six weeks, as both are free agents after this season. Arráez should bring back a good return because of how good he has been on both sides of the ball.
