BOX SCORESAN FRANCISCO — After Robbie Ray’s lengthy outing Tuesday, Giants manager Tony Vitello joked that his relievers had gotten an “All-Star break.” Ray’s eight innings followed Logan Webb’s latest strong start, and when you throw in an off day and a rainout, Vitello simply hadn’t had to use the group much in recent days. Even while being well rested, the bullpen continued to struggle. The Giants were in bend-but-don’t-break mode all afternoon and the flood finally came in the top of the ninth. Caleb Kilian had delivered nine straight scoreless appearances since his rough night at Coors Field, but he gave up four hits — including three straight with two outs — and four runs before finally being pulled. The bullpen was charged with seven runs over the final three innings of a 9-6 loss to the A’s. The Giants are still looking for their first three-game sweep of the season. They trailed by a run heading into the bottom of the sixth, but loaded the bases on two walks and a single. With two outs and two strikes, Jung Hoo Lee hit a sinking liner to right that got past a diving Lawrence Butler....
