The Giants are snakebitten — literally.For the eighth consecutive time to start the 2026 MLB season, San Francisco lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The 1977 Chicago Cubs are the only other team to have beaten the Giants eight times in a row to start a season in franchise history.

Tuesday’s 8-2 loss at Chase Field wasn’t all that different from Monday’s 5-4 defeat. Ketel Marte hit another moonshot homer, the Giants’ starter struggled in a short outing and San Francisco’s bats showed some life that was too little, too late.

Landen Roupp’s rough two-month stretch since the start of May continued, as the third-year righty gave up six earned runs, five hits and a career-high six walks in just 2 2/3 innings.
