While the Giants are in the midst of a disappointing 2026 MLB season so far and while the Athletics are looking to regain some ground after falling to fourth place in the American League West standings, there still are plenty of things to be excited about regarding both teams’ future.MLB Pipeline recently released its latest top 100 list of up-and-coming players, in which several Giants and Athletics prospects are featured.
A’s prospect and 19-year-old shortstop Leo De Vries landed at No. 2 on the list, who currently is batting .279/.372/.420 with 31 RBI, nine home runs and 28 stolen bases with the Midland RockHounds in Double-A.
Meanwhile, San Francisco’s shortstop prospect Josuar Gonzalez ranks at No. 15. The 18-year-old currently is slashing .411/.522/.607 with 16 RBI and one home run in 18 games this season with the Giants’ Arizona Complex League team.
Left-handed pitcher Jamie Arnold, who was selected 11th overall by the A’s in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft, is listed at No. 26. This season with Double-A Midland, the 22-year-old has a 4.36 ERA with 81 strikeouts and 38 walks in 15 games.
