On Friday morning, Giants pitcher Logan Webb was named NL Pitcher of the Month for his stellar June, when he posted an 0.71 ERA in 38 innings across five starts. But on Friday evening, Webb’s case to win the award again in July got off to a rough start, to say the least, as the Giants were crushed 15-3 by the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
The San Francisco ace allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits and two walks in just three innings of work; he gave up a total of four runs (three earned) in the entirety of June.
Webb never even had the chance to settle in, as Jake McCarthy sent his first offering 440 feet to right-center field for a leadoff homer. Jake McCarthy clubs a leadoff homer pic.twitter.com/jSW5CuPolx
— MLB (@MLB) July 4, 2026 The next four Rockies all reached base on three singles and a bases-loaded walk, before Casey Schmitt’s incredible 5-3 double play helped limit the damage. Unfortunately, that was just about the only highlight of the night for San Francisco. "THAT'S ONE OF THE GREATEST PLAYS I'VE EVER SEEN" – Dave Flemming pic.twitter.com/MInSzam1R4
