On Saturday afternoon, Luis Arraez was named to his fourth MLB All-Star Game alongside Giants teammate Logan Webb.A couple hours later, he showed exactly why, contributing a run and an RBI on yet another three-hit day — his 10th such game this year — in San Francisco’s 6-4 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.
After facing an early deficit in Friday’s blowout loss and a 45-minute rain delay before Saturday’s first pitch, the Giants capitalized on a fortunate break to strike first this time around.
With the bases loaded and one out, Jung Hoo Lee hit what seemed to be an inning-ending double play. But his hustle down the line, combined with a slightly errant throw that pulled Rockies first baseman Troy Johnston off the bag, brought in the game’s first run.
And, more importantly, it kept the rally alive for San Francisco. Willy Adames and Bryce Eldridge took advantage, driving back-to-back doubles to tally three more runs in the first inning. 4 in the first pic.twitter.com/8EM5WZRa4I
