SAN FRANCISCO — Logan Webb was walking out to the bullpen at Oracle Park when the 2026 MLB Draft broadcast popped up on the scoreboard. Webb is preparing to fly to Philadelphia, where he’ll become the fourth San Francisco Giants starter to represent the organization in a third straight MLB All-Star Game. If all goes according to plan, the fifth is on the way.
The Giants used the No. 4 overall pick in Saturday’s draft on Bay Area native and UCSB star Jackson Flora, a right-hander with a triple-digits fastball who was the consensus top pitcher available. The pick fills a huge need for the organization, and it came with the approval of their ace, who watched the selection before going to the bullpen.
Webb pulled up clips of Flora in recent weeks to do some scouting of his own, and said he made it clear to key figures in the front office that the pitcher should be the pick.
