SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants and Colorado Rockies have had an unexpected rivalry at the bottom of the NL West standings this season, and they’ll get an early look at one another next season. For a second straight season, the Giants will open at Oracle Park, MLB announced on Thursday. They’ll host the Rockies on March 25 on the first day of the 2027 season, and they’ll visit Coors Field to end the year. It will be the first time since 2022 that the Giants finish a season on the road.
The release from the team noted it’s a “tentative 2027 regular season schedule,” and that’s perhaps more relevant than ever. The sport is expected to have a prolonged labor battle this offseason and there’s a chance the 2027 season does not start on time, or does not include a full 162 games. The 2027 schedule is out and the Giants will open at home against the Rockies on March 25*. They'll also finish their season against the Rockies, but at Coors Field.
