SEATTLE — Jason Foley reached back for 97 mph and then spun off the mound. The Giants led by seven runs at the time, but there was no way or reason for Foley to hide the intensity of the moment. The right-hander was appearing on a big league mound for the first time since the end of the 2024 season. His lengthy rehab from shoulder surgery is over, and he’s once again just a normal reliever. If the Giants need him Saturday, he’ll be ready and eager.

“Overall, it felt pretty good,” Foley said. “I felt relaxed, and I’m obviously really happy with the result.”

Foley’s return was a scoreless inning, one of nine on the night for Giants pitchers, who blanked the Seattle Mariners 7-0 in the second half opener. It was one of the cleaner games of the year for the team, with Landen Roupp throwing seven dominant innings and Bryce Eldridge and Willy Adames hitting big homers.
