SEATTLE — The biggest cheers on Sunday at T-Mobile Park were reserved for the World Cup highlights that were occasionally shown on the scoreboard between innings. But a tier below were the shouts for a pair of late Seattle Mariners homers.
The home team went deep twice in the sixth and seventh, handing the Giants a 6-3 loss and another lost weekend. The Giants won their second-half opener and had Saturday’s game in their control, but ended up dropping the series.
For a second straight day, San Francisco blew an early lead, this time because of poor defense. The game was tied heading into the sixth, but Luke Raley put Seattle on top with a solo blast off Adrian Houser, who was making his first appearance in 12 days.
