The power of a last name can come with many perks, especially if you’re aspiring to have a successful professional baseball career. In the third round of the 2026 MLB draft, the Giants selected Rutgers outfielder Peyton Bonds. The No. 90 overall pick has natural physical talent, but Baseball America had an interesting take on Barry Bonds’ nephew.

“Biggest Gamble: OF Peyton Bonds,” Baseball America’s Carlos Collazo wrote. “Bonds is a physical toolshed with power, speed, and center field defense, but getting to his upside potential will require a more disciplined approach and a greater ability to lift the ball in the air.”

If the 20-year-old is having trouble elevating the ball, he has no better resource at his disposal. Barry Bonds is considered the greatest home run hitter of all time, having recorded 762 in his career. Peyton Bonds, Barry's nephew, taking some hacks at the MLB Draft Combine
