SAN FRANCISCO — Robbie Ray did exactly what he needed to Saturday in what might have been his final game as a Giant at Oracle Park.
Ray tossed six innings of stressless, solid ball in San Francisco’s 9-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels, not allowing a run and striking out five through 80 pitches.
He got plenty of run support from the Giants’ offense, which came to life in the third and fourth innings.
Jung Hoo Lee and Rafael Devers each had three-run home runs to inject an infectious energy throughout Oracle Park that often has been missing this season.
Los Angeles’ first run came in the seventh inning at the hands of San Francisco’s bullpen. Keaton Winn ran into a bases-loaded, ninth-inning jam that allowed one more run before ultimately getting out of it to secure the win.
Saturday’s game was less of a rollercoaster than Friday night’s, and at this point, the Giants will take any win in any form.
They clinched the series win Saturday, their first since July 12, with a chance to go for their first sweep of the 2026 MLB season on Sunday.
