The Giants potentially were dealt a serious blow in their game against the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night at Oracle Park.Casey Schmitt, who has been starting at third base with Matt Chapman on the 10-day IL, appeared to sustain an injury of his own as he rounded first base following a single in the second inning. San Francisco will be selling at the 2026 MLB trade deadline, but it remains to be seen if Schmitt would be dealt or not — though his value never has been higher. Monday’s incident might deter any of those plans, however.
