New details have emerged about Harrison Bader oddly aggravating his foot injury in a scooter accident over the past weekend. The Giants previously released a statement Tuesday, which stated the 32-year-old outfielder “had a scooter accident on Saturday night/early Sunday morning,” before he was set to meet with a specialist in Indianapolis about his lingering plantar fasciitis. However, the aggravation “changed the nature of his evaluation” with the specialist, and Bader was set to undergo an MRI to assess the severity of the new injury.
On Thursday, The San Francisco Chronicle’s Shayna Rubin reported Bader was involved in a vehicle collision while riding a scooter in the Marina District at around 2 a.m. on Sunday morning; he then “was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries,” the San Francisco Fire Department and San Francisco Police Department said in statements to the Chronicle, though Bader wasn’t individually named.
