Since making his MLB debut in 2019, Logan Webb has played with an array of veteran players during his Giants tenure.On the latest “Kylen’s Kwik Hits” with NBC Sports Bay Area’s Kylen Mills, the 29-year-old reflected on who his biggest mentors were early on in his major league career.
“There’s a couple,” Webb told Mills. “I’ve had so many good older guys to learn from. Brandon Crawford is probably easily the biggest one just because, he’s from here like I am. I think we were born in the same hospital. He was a fourth-round pick, I was a fourth-round pick. He’s one of my best friends, so I learned a lot from him.”
Crawford spent 13 of his 14 MLB seasons with San Francisco, and by the time Webb made his debut, the star shortstop already had helped the Giants win a pair of World Series titles and was a two-time All-Star.
As for veteran pitchers, Webb said one especially helped him along the way – even though their playing time together was short.
