SAN FRANCISCO — Another rough night for the bullpen spoiled Tennessee Night on Monday at Oracle Park.

Blade Tidwell and Drew Gilbert had good nights, but the bullpen gave up five runs over the final four innings and the Giants lost 6-3 to the Houston Astros, who were down to their last out at one point.

Gilbert’s seventh-inning shot gave the bullpen a 3-2 lead, but Dylan Smith ran into trouble in the ninth. He walked Christian Walker with one out and then gave up a long fly ball to Triples Alley that Gilbert ran down. It looked like Smith would escape, but Cam Smith’s bouncer to the right side snuck past Osleivis Basabe with two outs, tying the game.

It was the second time in three innings that the bullpen coughed up the lead, and the night would only get worse. Jason Foley got the 10th and gave up three runs, two coming on a rocket into the left field corner by Isaac Paredes. Paredes keeps it going! pic.twitter.com/9EMzJ01NUd
