The Giants began a three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday, hungry to bounce back after a series loss to the Colorado Rockies. But the Giants will be greeted by an old friend in Cleveland, former catcher Patrick Bailey. And ahead of the series start, Bailey reflected on his time in San Francisco.Traded to the Guardians in May after a rough start to the 2026 MLB season, Bailey will face his former team for the first time and while the end of his tenure did not go as he had hoped, he still has nothing but good things to say about the city and the Giants organization.
“[I’m] excited to see some familiar faces,” Bailey told reporters. “It should be a fun series… it’s where it all started. Incredibly grateful for the Giants organization, fans, the players and all the staff members that I’ve had there. I played my first big league game there and looking back at it now, just so grateful for San Francisco and the Giants. I really enjoyed my time there.
