Patrick Bailey 1, the Giants 0.San Francisco came out on the losing end against its former catcher and the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday at Progressive Field, dropping the series opener 8-1 in what was another rough outing for left-hander Carson Whisenhunt.
The Guardians tagged Whisenhunt for seven runs, six earned, across four innings of work, raising his ERA to 7.03 on the 2026 MLB season. Despite a bounce-back outing against the Houston Astros last week, Whisenhunt now has allowed four or more runs in four of his last five starts.
