Bryce Eldridge is making his MLB presence known early. In the midst of a rough season by the Giants, Eldridge has been a bright spot for the team since getting called up in May. And on Tuesday, Eldridge made franchise history by hitting his 14th home run of the season in San Francisco’s 8-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Bryce Eldridge’s 14 home runs are the most by a Giants player at age 21 or younger in a season since 1959 Orlando Cepeda hit 26 before his Sept birthday https://t.co/S0yuKWZRTF

— Sarah Langs (@SlangsOnSports) August 19, 2026 Eldridge’s solo homer in the top of the second was the only run of the game for the Giants, and a loud one.

While the Giants rookie holds the record for homers by a player 21 years old and younger since 1959, he trails both Orlando Cepeda (25 as a 20-year-old in 1958) and Willie Mays (20 as a 20-year-old in 1951) for the all-time record.

A promising season from Eldridge is encouraging for San Francisco’s future, with the Giants preparing for another important offseason.
