BOSTON — The locals tried several different ways to get an answer out of Rafael Devers before Friday’s game, but the response was always the same. What kind of reception did Devers expect in his return to Fenway Park?“I haven’t thought about it,” Devers said in the afternoon. “It’s my first time coming back to Boston. I haven’t experienced that before, so I don’t know what to expect.”
In the top of the first inning, he got his answer.
Devers hit second for the Giants and was loudly booed as he walked to the plate, although there were also a lot of Red Sox fans who stood and clapped.
