BOX SCOREBOSTON — There were plenty of storylines at Fenway Park on Friday night. There was also yet another road loss for the Giants.

Rafael Devers homered in his return to Boston, but that was the last run of the night in a 6-4 loss to the Red Sox. The Giants have dropped three of four on the road trip and 13 of 16 on the road. They’ve lost eight consecutive series away from Oracle Park, and this one isn’t shaping up to be any better.

The Red Sox put five runs on Logan Webb’s line in the third inning and knocked him out of the game. It seemed like a certain lost night at that point, but the Giants cut the deficit to one in the fourth inning when Drew Gilbert and Devers went back-to-back. A mistake in the outfield padded Boston’s lead two innings later.

With two outs, Wilyer Abreu hit a 107 mph rocket, but it was right at Jung Hoo Lee. He took an initial step in, though, and when he finally recovered, Abreu’s ball had hit his glove and gone to the wall for an RBI triple.
