SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants can’t seem to catch a break.San Francisco placed starting pitcher Adrian Houser on the 15-day IL with a right forearm strain, the team announced Wednesday morning.
Houser exited Tuesday’s outing against the Cincinnati Reds early with what manager Tony Vitello described as “tightness in his flexor.” He threw just 26 pitches before meeting with trainers on the mound and ultimately leaving the game.
“[It] started a little bit in the [Reds catcher Tyler] Stephenson at-bat at the end of the first, and then went back out for the second,” Houser told reporters postgame. “Just kind of feeling it on every pitch. I was trying to gut through it, get through it. Been barking a little bit, but you know, just kind of got to the point where I was a little just feeling it every time, so we wanted to play it safe.
“So hopefully everything’s good. Just minor setback, little tightness, but get an MRI tomorrow and go from there.” Adrian Houser left tonight's game after appearing to experience some discomfort in his throwing arm …...
