There haven’t been many bright spots this Giants season, but Rafael Devers has been impressive lately.His presence in the batter’s box and his attitude guiding the young guys have been fun to watch for Giants fans. Mike Krukow went on “The Murph & Markus Show” to discuss what he has been seeing from Devers.
“The other thing that’s happened with Devers that’s been really cool to see is he’s taking on a leadership role,” Krukow told KNBR Friday. “He’s standing up and encouraging these guys to take advantage of their opportunity … to leave an impression on this organization.”
Devers’ stats since May have been on par with what everyone expected from the former Red Sox slugger before he was traded. He’s batting .261 with 27 home runs and 65 RBI since May 1.
In addition to his immaculate play on the field, his selflessness has also stood out. He hasn’t shown any signs of displeasure with splitting reps with rookie Bryce Eldridge at first base.
