BOX SCORESAN FRANCISCO — The Giants got another big homer from the superstar in their lineup, but that was no match for the five hit by the New York Mets.
Matt Wilkinson got roughed up early and Yunior Marte gave up two more homers while saving the rest of the bullpen with five innings of relief. The Giants fell 10-6 at Citi Field, dropping to 2-3 on this packed three-city trip.
The Mets jumped out to a 7-0 lead through two innings, but the Giants — as they did earlier on the trip in Pittsburgh — kept clawing runs back. They got two in the third, one in the seventh and then a clutch three-run homer from Rafael Devers in the eighth, cutting the deficit to three. That was as close as they would get, though.
