SAN FRANCISCO — Logan Webb has made 206 appearances for the Giants, and aside from a brief run with Mac Dre early in his career, all of them have started with Andre Nickatina’s “Killa Whale” blasting out of the speakers at Oracle Park. On Monday, pitching for the first time since the worst statistical start of his career, it was time for a change. Webb took the mound to “Kickstart My Heart” by Mötley Crüe, and while that was new, the rest of his night was back to normal. He gave up one run over six innings and tied a season high with eight strikeouts. Asked about the song change — his first in six years — after the Giants got a 5-4 walk-off win in the 11th, Webb shrugged.
“I think it speaks for itself,” he said. A much more normal Logan Webb start: 6 innings, 3 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts. Bryce Eldridge helped get him out of a jam in the sixth with a nice leaping grab of a 102 mph line drive.
