SAN FRANCISCO — Robbie Ray‘s 12th win of the season was a big one personally, but also for his new teammates. It was the 100th of his career, and it helped the San Diego Padres stay a half-game up on the Arizona Diamondbacks in the race for the final postseason spot in the National League. In his return to San Francisco, Ray gave a familiar look, but with a twist. He seemed to be walking a tightrope throughout his four months with the Giants this season, although he generally found a way out of the long innings and departed with a 3.08 ERA. In San Diego, it’s 5.35 through seven starts, including five earned in his return to Oracle Park on Friday night.
