The Giants have fallen short of expectations during the 2026 MLB season, but they avoided one milestone they certainly didn’t want to reach with a big win on Tuesday night.San Francisco defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in a 10-3 victory at Busch Stadium, meaning the worst record they can finish with is 63-99. The blowout win saved the Giants from a nail-biting end to their campaign, officially making it impossible for them to record the second 100-loss season in team history as they play their final 10 games.

As has been the case for a while now, it was the Giants’ young guns who made sure San Francisco snagged its 63rd win with an all-round performance — including big nights from Bryce Eldridge and Blade Tidwell at the plate and on the mound.

Through the slumps — his own as a first-year pro and San Francisco’s as a team — Eldridge has kept a level head despite the ups and downs, and helped his fellow young teammates do so as well.
