The Giants’ 2026 MLB season might have spiraled into a rollercoaster ride with more downs than ups, but with a flock of young talent in the minor leagues, there’s plenty to be excited about in the near future.“It’s certainly fun to dream on it,” Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey said on “The TK Show” podcast in regard to the team’s top prospects.
San Francisco boasts five of the top 100 MLB prospects, with four landing in the top 50, and Posey had high praise for a number of them.
“With Josuar [Gonzalez], probably one of the most dynamic young players I’ve seen in a long time,” Posey said. “The speed, the twitchiness, the defense. He can fly.
“And then Luis Hernández is still 17. He should be a junior in high school and he’s competing with guys 18-to-22 or older.”
While the big-league Giants won’t see the postseason, the Double-A Richmond Flying Squirrels are in the postseason and the low-A San Jose Giants, which are home to Gonzalez and Hernández, lost the California League championship on...
