SAN FRANCISCO — When he looks back on the 2026 MLB season, Logan Webb might want to raise one finger to a lot of what went on. On Friday, it officially ended his season. Webb went on the IL with a right middle finger blister, bringing an end to a season that was a disappointment from a personal and team perspective. The original plan was for him to face the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday at Dodger Stadium, but manager Tony Vitello and Webb both hinted after his last start that it might be time to shut him down, and the Giants finally did.
Rookie infielder Nate Furman also went on the IL with an oblique strain. The Giants filled the roster spots by bringing outfielder Victor Bericoto back from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento and calling up newcomer Duncan Davitt, a right-handed pitcher who was a recent waiver claim.
