There aren’t many things or people who can bring Giants and Dodgers fans together, but Mike Krukow is an exception.The legendary Giants broadcaster will call his final game against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday, ending an iconic 36-year run in the booth. In the midst of a three-game series between San Francisco and Los Angeles, Dodgers broadcasters Rick Monday, Joe Davis and Orel Hershiser honored Krukow with special messages.
“Time has gone by: 50 years ago, we became teammates for a short period of time with the Chicago Cubs. At every turn, my friend, you have been the absolute professional,” Monday shared. “Whether it be as a player or as a broadcaster, you have entertained all of us, thousands of people. To the Krukow family, thank you. Thank you for sharing Mike with us for all these years. It is truly a pleasure because every day you come to the ballpark, whether it was as a pitcher in the major leagues or as a broadcaster, you’ve arrived at that ballpark like a 10-year-old in the stadium about to see your first major league game.
