SAN FRANCISCO — The Los Angeles Dodgers have been visiting Oracle Park for nearly three decades, and they’ve likely never felt as comfortable as they did Saturday.
The lower deck appeared to be at least 80 percent blue, and a young Giants roster couldn’t keep them from leaving happy. The Giants rallied late but fell 4-3, guaranteeing that they will finish at least 30 games under .500 this season.
The Dodgers jumped ahead when Mookie Betts took Matt Wilkinson deep in the third, but Jonah Cox just about singlehandedly manufactured the tying run in the bottom of the inning. Drew Gilbert came off the bench and drew a walk and Drew Cavanaugh picked up a pinch-hit triple, but Cavanaugh — the tying run — was stranded on third.
