Brian Wilson's Left Oblique Strained According to Reuters, San Francisco Giants All Star iconoclastic closer, Brian Wilson, strained his left oblique muscle, sometime during the week of March 14, 2011. He was scheduled to undergo tests on Monday, March 21, 2011 to assess the degree of his injury. As I recently wrote about a fellow closing pitcher on another team - Mariano Rivera of the New York Yankees - closers are a different breed: the bad cowboys in the long, dark dusters.
