Mike Murphy looked out of place on the 19th floor of SanFrancisco's federal building last week, dressed in a blue suit andred tie. He has been a Giants employee for 53 years, sincethe club came to San Francisco. He began as a batboy in the Willie Mays era and became theequipment manager and maestro of the clubhouse, with his officeserving as a sanctuary for the likes of Mays and Willie McCoveywhen they visit. He goes by Murph and wears Giants garb constantly. Bonds'perjury trial took him out of his comfort zone.
