SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Left-hander Javier Lopez tried to get intothe hirsute spirit of the Giants bullpen and grow a bushybeard during the pennant stretch last year. All he could manage wasa goatee. Lopez knows his limitations. And he hopes that black-beardedcloser Brian Wilson understands his boundaries, too. Wilsonreported improvement in his strained left oblique while playingcatch Friday; pitching coach Dave Righetti said Wilson would playcatch again Saturday. Wilson remains iffy at best to open the season on the activeroster.
