All things considered, Brandon Belt had a great major league debut on March 31. In all my years watching the San Francisco Giants from the center-field bleachers as an usher, I'm not sure that I remember a rookie with the hype that's surrounding the young first baseman -- even Buster Posey last year. Until fairly recently, the Giants farm system had been less than impressive (slight understatement?), so it's a great feeling to want to get behind a promising youngster.
