Giants outfielder Andres Torres has been placed on the disabled list with an Achilles tendon strain, according to Giants beat writer Andrew Baggarly. Baggarly also reports that outfielder Darren Ford has been called up from AAA-Fresno to take Torres' place on the 25-man roster.
