WASHINGTON The Giants are making plenty of hardcontact these days: Helmets spiked against grass, bats rattling thewooden rack, fists pounding the bench. Their offensive woes hit a new low Friday night. WashingtonNationals right-hander Jason Marquis needed just 96 pitches tothrow a five-hit shutout and send the Giants to a 3-0 loss. Marquis even helped himself with the bat, taking apiñata swing on a helmet-high fastball from Tim Lincecumthat resulted in an inexplicably dumped run-scoring single intoright field.
