The Giants put six runs and 10 hits onthe board in New York on Tuesday night before they accomplishedanything. As nice as it was to get a victory, there wasn't a momentof real consequence until Aubrey Huff's game-deciding home run inthe 10th inning. On an evening in which the Giants took a step or two towardrespectability, the damage through nine innings was strictly asmall-time affair, carved out by players Aaron Rowand, MikeFontenot, Nate Schierholtz on the fringe of the team's long-rangeplans. Four of the Giants' slumping hitters - Huff,Miguel Tejada, Buster Posey and Cody Ross - were in the lineup andthey were a combined 2-for-17 a pair of harmless singles until Huffcrushed his dead-pull drive into the night.
