Brian Sabean verbally went after Florida's Scott Cousins onThursday. On Friday, the Giants went into backtrack modeabout the comments Sabean had made on KNBR. The team issued a five-paragraph statement that did not includethe words "apology" or "sorry" regarding the general manager'sThursday statements that included, "If I never hear from Cousinsagain or he never plays another game in the big leagues, I thinkwe'll all be happy." The Giants' statement did say Sabean'scomments "were not meant to vilify Scott Cousins."
