Jose Pagan, the Giants' first World Series shortstopin their San Francisco history, died Tuesday in Sebring, Fla., ofLewy body dementia. He was 76. A .250 career hitter, Mr. Pagan went 7-for-19 .368 in the 1962World Series, which the Giants lost in seven games to theYankees. He appeared in 164 regular-season games that year,including a tiebreaking series against the Dodgers.
