Dave Righetti does a marvelous job as pitching coach of the Giants , but he got the job onlybecause Sigmund Freud wasn't available. It's not that the Giants' pitchers are a bunch of headcases. Let's just say that a majority of them have quirks,eccentricities and the odd lurking demon. There could be a cause-and-effect at work. What pitcher couldstay completely sane working for the run-eeking machine that is theGiants ?
