DETROIT -- For a pitcher operating on short rest, Barry Zito hadan awful lot of time to kill Saturday night. As a hellacious thunderstorm raged over Comerica Park, he sat inthe trainer's room during a delay of nearly three hours, listeningto music and "just, you know, staying where you need to stay." The Giants stayed nearly all night, butthey achieved a 15-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. And Zitomight have gained something in the eyes of teammates and fans, taking the ball on three days of rest and then demanding it againfollowing the weather interruption in the top of the thirdinning.
